[Plugin] Faster OBj Export

[Plugin] Faster OBj Export

Export .obj? Give this a try and let me know how it works.

It's available through the PluginStore.

http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pl ... j_exporter

This exporter groups the .obj by material.
Textures are not supported, but colors are.
Groups/Instances are not considered.
Works on selection, or entire model.

Update v1.1 with small tweaks hardly worth mentioning.

80,000 verts in 10 seconds is not terrible.

Here's a screenshot because who doesn't love screenshots, amiright? (Model)

on my mac Pro export, single sided took much longer than that...

SketchUp Entities processed:

20 Groups
487 Instances
86215 Faces
4 Materials

OBJ Entities exported:

92096 Faces
4 Materials

do you want the file to compare with yours?

Exceptional exporter! I can actually import models into Zbrush from SketchUp without them being almot completely unusable. Thank you!

What about the triangulation of faces into ZBrush, does easy possible to quadrangularize the file exported inside ZB or subdivide?

Finally an exporter that works!

Would it be possible to add texture coordinate exporting? Then it would be perfect.

Thanks, peter

Ahhh. i read import.

you want export to obj with textures.

Then i would recommend ThomThom QuadFace tools. It has a great OBJ exporter with textures.
