Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveThanks for the heads-up, Rich.
And thanks Whaat for this awesome stuff ![]() Comfortably numb...
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping Exclusivethe only complaint I have is, the forcing of full screen layout. yuck.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveI thought you'd have loads of room in your Tardis to see it.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping Exclusiveright now I'm stuck on 1 17" monitor....
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveSketchUV looks pretty neat! Well done Dale.

Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveAnother excellent edition, Rich.

Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveAs always, another winner Rich.
I would like to get a pulp version and start a collection, any chance of that happening in the future?
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveHighly unlikely.
I love it to happen though. I just have no idea what's involved in going that direction. I'm really looking into delivering a more interactive version with embedded videos and slideshows. But I need a better PC
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveWouldn't you have to host that on a server? Or is there a way to load all of that to each subscriber that won't bog down? (I really don't know what I'm saying here

Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveCurrently Catchup as a PDF is a huge drain on resources once the email goes out. But I have found a way to place a picture that is clickable an will load a YouTube video. Slide shows are a different ball game
Although there's a new alternative to Issuu that is in beta that is pretty incredible. But it would mean the PDF would no longer be used. Not sure how people feel about that.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveDefinitely another useful tool, Dale...
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveAny chance we can download and save? A couple of times in this edition I've accidently clicked on an advert and ended up having to reload which seems to take forever.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping Exclusive
Lately browsers are set up to display pdf files in the browser window (although you can disable this feature). But you can still download. This is Chrome but every browser has something similar... Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums. Gai...
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveTry clicking the word 'here' rather than 'download'
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveUsing 'Save link as' will normally try and save the index or page html NOT the PDF...
Instead, open the normal PDF in your browser and when it loads hit ESC twice. Now you get the normal PDF toolbar from where you can use the 'Save_as' option to download the PDF to your PC... Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums. TIG
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveAwesome stuff, Rich. Thanks for the effort you put into these!
You can also just 'Ctrl + S' to save to your desktop once it loads. "There is a man in the world who will never be turned down... he is the man who delivers the goods."
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveActually, with Acrobat-X it's Ctrl+Shift+S to get the 'Save_as' dialog to appear when in full-screen mode...
Also the ESCx2 way lets you see all options like zoom, search, print etc in the more familiar interface... TIG
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping Exclusive
That's a good tip...new one for me! "There is a man in the world who will never be turned down... he is the man who delivers the goods."
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveLove reading this, great work as ever.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveAnother great edition. Well done Rich.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveThanks for the save tips especially TIG (Esc x2

My points: 1. The .pdf is highly portable. Ie, I can easily load Catchups on my Nook Tablet and take them with me on the road. I also print them and keep them in a binder for reference at home. 2. The latest edition, #9 appears in landscape format. Please consider reformatting it back to portrait 3. Converting to a video format is really not the right native version for a resource like this, IMO. 4. You've done a remarkable job on this publication as it stands now. Adding "embedded videos" and other "techno enhancements" would only detract from it. In other words, leave well enough alone. My (respectful) request: Please leave the Catchup in .pdf and reformat the latest issue so it can be viewed and/or printed as single page views. Thanks for another informative issue. Cheers. Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveHi Jeff,
To me the latest edition of Cathup is still in A4 portrait. It can also be read on double page A3 format which results in a landscape view. Are you aware of the Adobe Viewer settings? In case not, I attach image. Mike Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveHi Mike,
Thanks for the tips on settings, but I use the Foxit reader, both standalone and Firefox plugin: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/ It's been my .pdf reader mainstay for a long time ... I had an older version of Foxit installed and I thought that might be the problem. However, updating to the newest version didn't change the page viewing. I've tried using single and continuous page views, but only the very first page displays in portrait, all the others are in landscape ... All the previous Catchup editions show as portrait, page by page. So, um ... er ... heh ... Perhaps a page format setting that was overlooked? Cheers. "For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen."
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveYes, it was overlooked. I'll email you a landscape version later.
Re: CatchUp Edition 9 - UV Mapping ExclusiveThank you Rich ...
