What is that sketching program

What is that sketching program

Postby pbacot » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:21 pm

One of the 3d sketching programs I've seen in the past couple years: as you sketch consecutive lines, the program refines the line you are working on. It has symmetry and other 3d features. I am sure someone posted a link on Sketchucation. I'd like to find something like that in iPad--or even just a 2d napkin sketch (in scale) with layers, for quick sketching functions.

Well that's cool. I was looking for the HW req's and couldn't really find anything. Quite early in the devel process, I guess, though it has been around for awhile.

I don't think it's available at all yet. I am trying sketching early floor plan ideas on Sketchbook and it's OK for some quick 2d ideas. Easy to draw and erase quickly.

That is very very cool. If they could take that and apply it to solids it would revolutionise 3D modelling.

Kris,

I have the iPad version (learning it) and I haven't noticed it in there. But quick switching between eraser and pencil is helpful. I am sketching over an existing plan. I add a layer and spray brush white to obscure areas to be reworked, and other layers to try different layouts. No scale except the one in your head.

Autodesk Sketchbook Pro is purely for 2D sketching and painting.

Autodesk Sketchbook Designer is the more complex application where you can make massive edits to everything.

Autodesk Alias combines 2D drawing and 3D modeling.
