I'm pretty burned out on the whole "undead" movie genre, vampires, zombies, walking undead, etc. What we need is some good, old fashioned, campy 50's style sci-fi like this one from May of '58:

some buttered popcorn and a Coke.

Cheers.

Or some good, old western. Lately there have been zombies or aliens or ninjas in western movies, too. :?

Derren Brown hypnotizes a guy into believing a zombie arcade game is real, I'd poop myself if it happened to me.

I don't have much to comment about camp horror films. . .but I did want to add a bit of insight into the histrionics of Old Abe as a Vampire Hunter. I am sure that a good deal of the movie is steeped in documented historical fact. (Heck, I bet you can take a course on it at Georgetown) but there was one slight historical hiccup I caught when watching the trailer the other night with my son . . .
monument.png

The Washington Monument didnt look like this during Lincoln's lifeteime. Its construction was suspended during the Civil War and wasn't dedicated until about 1884. Other than that. . .I am sure the rest of the movie is entirely accurate and meaningful and will be of immense benefit in the instruction of history to our Young People.

[Edit} ps. .. does this mean that Booth used a silver bullet?

Abe was a rail-splitter, so he knew his way around an axe. Rails. .. vampires. .. .it all comes down to the same thing. . .. idiocy. :geek:

George was supposed to have cut down a cherry tree as a child. True or not? But Abe was the rail splitter.

George cutting down the tree is absolutely true of course. But what is Not known is that he thought he was killing a soul- stealing cacodemon. Turned out to be just a cherry tree.
A verY evil cherry tree.

Further ramblings. Honesty is ironically what we look for in politicians. So Washington's story is about him fessing up to cutting the tree, something no politician would do any longer. There was probably not another likely suspect for miles around... like a born politician, he turned it into a positive appearance.

When Lincoln came along, he was marketed as "Honest Abe". It's assumed the opposition isn't, of course.

Sorry, OT...

well if was cut down today. . .GW would definitely have spin-meisters who would help him play the right card on the whole Cherry Tree scandal. . .

"The cutting down of the cherry tree was for the greater good"
"The cherry Tree was part of a vast right wing conspiracy"
""Cutting down the Tree provided needed jobs for underserved communities. . ."
"We will not let a bunch of wacko greeniac tree huggers get in the way of creating logging jobs"

It goes on and on.

The cherry tree was affiliated with Al Qeada.
