New Advert

Postby SketchUpNoobie » Tue Sep 20, 2011 12:13 pm

Is it just me or is everyone getting the new double advertisements? I get the regular one and then below "SketchUcation" is a smaller one about 3D printing. It's not a huge deal and I know advertisements are how SketchUcation currently stays running but is this permanent?

Yes, I have noticed that the page seems reformatted. On my single 19 inch screen, the red buttons are at the very bottom. I figure that's ok. Like you say, this forum, like most others, is supported by advertising. But frankly, I gotta get new equipment.

Well, that printer ad should be next to the sketchucation logo, not below. What is your screen resolution?

My screen resolution indicated by windowsxp is 1024x768. My graphics card is Nvidia Geforce2MX/MX400. They made that just after papyrus was invented.

Mine is 1024x786 too. It does show up to the side of the logo on my laptop which is 1280xSomething.

So it is there to stay?

Prehistoric, eh? I've always been confused with screen resolutions. 1024x768 is the only resolution that looks decent on this computer. Am I missing something or is my monitor/desktop just too old? (It's not really that old. Either of them.)

Well, I remember I started with 800x600. That was even older.

Is this really about screen resolution, or screen aspect ratio, or both interactively? That has always confused me since the new screens hit the market. Because, if need be, I can up my resolution a couple of notches to where I can get everything on screen, but it'll be very tiny. And I can do this through the video card settings or in windows.

Well, the two images need to fit beside each other. If the screen resolution is too small, the second one in the row will jump into a new line.

So . . . I'm guessing someone payed a nice bit of money to get a completely separate, non-changing advert.
