Wipe Out - help

Wipe Out - help

Postby Roger » Sun Sep 11, 2011 2:52 am

I accidentally wiped out my basic set of colors and textures for SU8. Is it kosher to ask someone to mail me the folder that comes with SU8?

And what is the proper path to the materials folder?

Thanks.

I guess there's no real problem with sending the files although you can simply re-install Su and that will not "touch" any of your settings but replace all missing files.

What is your OS first of all? On my 32 bit XP it is
C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\Materials

Thanks Gai. So if I reinstall 8pro, it will not affect my installation of Twilight. Is that correct?

Roger, the only thing that will happen if you reinstall SU8 Pro is that it'll replace anything that is missing from the original install. It shouldn't mess with anything else like toolbars or additional styles or material libraries you've installed.
Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.

It should not affect your Twilight installation. In fact, when SU 8 came out, I just copied all my plugins from SU 7 (including Twilight) and it worked. All its files (including license data) are additional files which are not affected by anything SU adds.

Thanks all, I am back and functional. FYI. When SU is first installed the materials folder is locked. So when you try to use the "options" screen in Twilight Render to change paths after doing an upgrade the new path will not take. Unlocking the folder made life a lot easier.
