Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingOgan, that knot is scary.
Comfortably numb...
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - Fishingthat knot is insane!
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingThanks, after figuring out the topology I first drew piecewise linear path that follows the knot, than I converted the lines to Tgi3D Bezier curves, taking care that the whole curve is somewhat smooth, then I performed a follow-me. Finally I removed the obvious solid overlaps with Tgi3D cross-section tool. Below is the original file...

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingA quick Lobster Pot.
The pot is just an array of one component. The buoy is a stretched sphere and a torus and the rope a couple of squashed helix. Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums. Opinions are like wives.

I wish I had more time for details. Maybe I will do this one again with no time limit... maybe not. Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingThanks Eric, I think I used more of the 30 minutes for composition than modelling.

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - Fishing
Please tell me your kidding? That...thing... looks amazing as it is.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingThanks Michael. The source image I used had more and different detail that would have taken time. I made a video of it while I did this, I will upload it after the comp. is over (don't want to sway any votes).
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingHere's my entry....the only way to Fish. Just kidding.

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #38 - FishingDang. . .you stole my idea. I saw a cartoon once called "fishing in the Mekong 1968" and this is what they used. . .so I was gonna model this.
