[Talk] Plugins IndexRe: Plugins Index (update 2010-10-23)Chris,
Can i ask what is it you find is the issue with this index or plugins at SCF in general? I'm on a fact finding mission here not a witch hunt to see if we can improve it. So your comments are valued. Rich

Re: Plugins Index (update 2010-10-23)
The list isn't manually maintained. It is generated from the Title of each post, which must use the [Plugin] notation in order to be included. Categories could be implemented, but then each title (or post) would need to be edited to include some type of category information in a consistent format.
Re: Plugins Index (update 2010-12-04)Is it possible that we connect this plugins index to Ruby Library Depot and Smustard..so SCF members get notifications here only??
when you fail at something....you haven't really failed...you've found one way the thing will not work out
Re: Plugins Index (update 2010-12-11)thanks Jimmy
Re: Plugins Index (update 2010-12-14)These should be index alphabetical order! You will see the authors name when you get there. It's harder to find them this way.
I'm sure a poll would agree maybe?
Re: Plugins Index (update 2010-12-14)They are in alphabetical order (listed under the authors' names which are again in alphabetical order).
The "recent" ones are in date/time order. Gai...

Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-01-08)Yes, Jim this is a VERY useful thing... I just noticed though that TIG's slicer script seems to be missing... is he working on an update maybe ?
Anyway, thanks & keep up the great work
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-01-08)
PS: Slicer v3.1 is available at viewtopic.php?p=16697#p16697 I am working on a slicer/slotter update... but am bogged down by other things at the moment... TIG
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-01-08)Thanks TIG, that's the version i have, & sadly on SU 7.1 it refuses to create the flattened on groundplane sections... & in SU8 it sometimes doesnt work either, but that is on very complex models !
I wonder if you know anything about why some plugins work & others not in a vista environment (french language)? Vista seems to create duplicates, but not of all plugins, in a virtual store "C:\Users\"xx"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7" very odd, dunno if that has any influence of ruby scripts, anyway some days I feel like going back to XP where pretty much everything works fine... Thanks for all your hard work & good luck best Paddy
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-01-08)Vista can be really flaky if you don't have 'full' access rights to the ../Plugins folder and its sub-folders - as an admin you could try to reset them under Preferences > Security... Otherwise you think they are installed and they are really in some 'Compatibility Files' folder !

Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-01-08)TIG, thanks, yes I have checked on that... I had already attributed full rights as I'd seen similar comments, but have redone it to be sure
I'll see if everything is better now & let you know

I see the problem, you must have changed your username at some point. Fixed.
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-05-11)Jim, thanks for your updates.
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-05-17)This is a very useful list. For those of us that are purely hobbyists, would it be possible to indicate the free downloads with an asterisk or something. I know you are compiling this list automatically. I wonder if there is some way to indicate cost??

Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-05-17)
The great majority of the Plugins downloadable directly from this forum [or links] are 'free' - BUT remember that you can [should?] 'donate' to the authors of many of them - especially for commercial use, or when they simply 'saved your ass'. Relatively few commercial 'pay' scripts will link off to their own sites and clearly show the costs on those sites... TIG
Re: Plugins Index (update 2011-05-17)
I, and some other developers, indicate commercial plugins with [$] in the title. Since most are free it makes more sense to tag those that are not. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict
