Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussTo celebrate this momentous occasion (and the competitions 1st birthday, roughly), we have a prize and 1 whole hour in which to earn it! The prize is a copy of profile Builder kindly donated by Whaat (author of such other marvellous plugins as Subdivide and Smooth, BoolTools and Skindigo.) The rules are the same as usual although they're going to be a little more strictly enforced for this round, so make sure your entry meets all the requirements. The deadline is the 17th December. Lastly, dont forget you get 1 hour in which to complete your model instead of the usual 30 mins. Good luck and have fun. Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussVery cool subject guys, this will be fun. nice touch with the prizes hopefully many will enter.
I'm already done with my model, but do not wanna be the first poster.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussNOT an entry
I have the prizes already, so please do enter Okay, here is mine, as you can see it's a simple proxy, I used 3 iriterations of SDS. The cat took 42 minutes, hat took 11 minutes. Basic proxy's Proxy's after SDS. Compiled model.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. Seusshaha pete.
the trick is posting that near the end of the comp. nobody is gonna bother entering now ![]() dotdotdot
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussI probably should have, but knowing me I'd still fiddle with it until I realised I have gone over the one hour.
Anyway I already own both SDS (as you can see) and Profile builder, so my entry is just for shits and giggles, and not an official entry.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussWell done as usual Pete.

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussI do not eat green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Dan-I-am. My avatar is an anachronism.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussA green Dog in a red car.
Going Away. Going away fast! Go Dog! GO! I just plain ran out of time to finesse this thing. . . .but you get the idea. If I make it look easy. . .then it probably is.
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussThese are great so far. Come on people, we need more entries.

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussSeeing as we havent had many entries i think it'd be good to keep the comp open for another week. New closing date is the 17th
![]() Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussI guess so, looks like the same thing happened in the 'Model this: Popeye' thread.
Organic modelling scares folks away... ![]() ![]()
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussLet's also extend the modeling time to 9 hours so I can finish mine up the way I wanted!

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. Seusshmmm, better use my unlimited time wisely for this. Dr. Seuss is not an easy one...
OK I AM DONE! Now guess what I molded! It's in season! Getting the perfect sig is hard...
Google it!
Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussWell I confess I'm really new to organic modeling, but I'm intrigued so I had another go. For me the time isn't in the proxy modeling, it's the time it takes my old G4 home computer to subdivide and smooth, and that's what makes the model. I took screenshots with the computer clock visible in the upper right corner just as a record.

Re: Speed Modelling Challenge #20 Dr. SeussThis doesn't count as part of my submission but I couldn't resist. Ran sudivide and smooth one more time took until about 9:20 to run. I thought that since I started the model at 7:15 and had the first SDS at 8:00 I still had 15 min. lots of time right? An hour and 20 minutes later and a little tweaking and this is what I have.
