I have an HP with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I finally figured it out, took a while. But, finally got it to work when putting the files in the correct place. I must of had it in reversed. Is this normal, I applied the street generator to the lines, I noticed that it left behind hidden geometry on each corner to where it bends, is that normal? I was checking. Thanks. thomthom wrote:And there isn't a copy left in the plugins folder? Is the Core file also updated?
btw: are you on a mac?

Yes. That's currently by design. it generates a road segment per edge. So if have two connected edges. and run the Make Street command on each of them separately, it'll still work.

Hi Thomthom! Very powerfull tool indeed- I started to use it for handrailings and curtain walls (: 2 things: 1/ Could your baby keep last entered values (even more: to remember after the file is closed)? 2/ Are st.Andrew crosses unavoidable? P.S. 2 threads about the same plug-in (with inner interchangeable links) is extremly confusing thing

Yes. That's coming. rv1974 wrote:2/ Are st.Andrew crosses unavoidable? rv1974 wrote:P.S. 2 threads about the same plug-in (with inner interchangeable links) is extremly confusing thing
It is not the same plugin. CityGen is a collaboration project. Remus and Chris is working on modules to create buildings. I'm working on the module to create streets. All these modules need this 'core' file to load. So actually, anything that relates to the street generator, should be posted in that thread. This thread is intended for the core file. Since this is a Work In Progress, we're in the very early alpha stages - testing ideas, things will be a wee bit messy. Once things start shaping up, we'll be able to organize these threads better and make packages that include all the modules for easier installation. So until this project reaches that stage, things will be in flux. And there will be things missing. It's probably worth skimming through the pages of replies to get an overview.

I meant diagonal lines on crossroads. St. Andrew was crucified on X shaped cross. Now it's on the scottish and russian navy flags for example.

I had been thinking of a cleanup option. But I'll have to see how this fit in with the rest of the modules. We might end up needing them lines for further processing.

Can we make the Core and modules sticky so they always have their fixed position at the top? Preferable with the Core at the very top.

Looks like it. Would it be possible for me to get some elevated access to this sub-section of the forum?

Did you remove the old version? What OS are you on? Are you getting error messages? (Does the Ruby Console output anything?) Sketchup crashes? I just tried both the Core and StreetGen on my laptop. Extracted CityGen - Core.zip to the plugins folder. Then Extracted the StreetGen .zip into the citygen/modules/ folder. Worked fine.

I think In use the last version I found, but I can't find the latest one you just uploaded as you wrote today. Please can you explain me where can I download the latest version? and if you know how can I solve these problems to use it?

Yea - public releases are posted here. The Google Code site is for developers that want to join the project.

The Core doesn't have any GUI - nor does it 'do' anything which the end user can see. Check the modules for what they can do. So far I think it's just StreetGen available.

HI thom.-
Now it works perfectly. I found some incoveniences if you have instaled several plugins more at the same time: MODULOR, 1001bit and lightup you can't use CityGen, Sketchup crashed. Please review this post and check it. I'd tried for four days diferents combinations of configurations, and after all I'd put these plugins in another sketchup's instalation.
Good jod and wait for news for this nice application.

That's odd. Not sure why any of those would affect anything. Essentially make any difference between 0.4.x and 0.5.x.
Does any combination of these plugins crash - or is it with all of them? Personally I have 1001bit and Modulor - both of which works fine on my system.

I seem it's a combination of these plugins, I don't know why, but I'd been all the weekend try con find the right combination and after all i opted to install Modulor in Skecthup 6 and now all works. I mean it's lightup which is the main problem, couse is just when is reading the protection or key from this plugin when sktchup crashed after install citygen.
maybe there must be developed some application to purge and depure all the plugins to be installed at the same time.
best regards

hm... LightUp is the only app I don't have. I could try to install the trial - but I'm short of time this whole week. Maybe give Adam a prod and see what he says.

as of the 19-sep update, are you still using the google code repo? I noticed there were no updates when I tried to pull after the announcement.
