RoundCorner performs the rounding of the edges and corners of 3D shapes along a 2D profile, in 3 modes: Round corners, Sharp corners and Bevel. RoundCorner also supports concave corners (always rendered as Round) and non-orthogonal edge faces. Corners can have 2, 3, or more edges.

Language: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, German (thanks to all kind translators). Thanks to Christophe Plassais for the French user manual.
Menus: by default, it is installed in Tools > Fredo6 Collection > RoundCorner
Icon toolbar: by Default ‘RoundCorner’. 3 icons are available, but you can configure which ones to display (menu Default Parameters…)
The plugin is free, for private and commercial usage. There is a donation menu however.
1) Download and Open the archive 2) Select All (Ctrl A) 3) Extract into the Sketchup Plugin Directory 4) Answer YES to overwrite all existing files if any
The footprint in the SU Plugin Directory must be:
Footprint RoundCorner 23.jpg
On Mac the SU plugin directory should be: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins
CAUTION: NEVER rename or move files from their folders. If you are unsure of your unzip operation, do it in a neutral folder and check that you reconstruct the right footprint. Then transfer the folders and files to the SU Plugin Directory.
CONFLICTING PLUGINS: some plugins conflict with RoundCorner and some others of my scripts
Some versions of Podium

Select geometry (edges, faces) and click on one of the 3 icons. Edges are highlighted in Red and the offset borders in green. For convenience, you have several selection modes which can be activated via the buttons in the left part of the palette (or via Ctrl and Shift keys)
You can add / remove edges from the selection by clicking on a single edge, on a face (include all edges of the face) or double click (include all connected edges)
Adjust the Offset parameter by typing the new value in the VCB or clicking in the small field in the button palette. This will be reflected in the preview.
Adjust the number of segments for the rounding (default is 6). Click in the button palette or type a new value followed by ‘s’ in the VCB
You have other parameters which you modify. See documentation.
Click in the empty space or on the checkmark icon to generate the model
Note: you can save the parameters across Sketchup session by using the small icons with a disk and letter. See documentation
It is always a good idea to check the contextual menu to see available options
CAUTION: Round Corner mode is very greedy in generation of faces and edges. For a standard cube (8 corners), with rounding made of 6 segments, you would generate a minimum of 8 x 36 + 12 x 6 = 360 new faces (possibly 680 when faces are not orthogonal and corners must be triangulated). In contrast, Sharp corner would only generate the rounding edges, with no corner, and create 12 x 6 = 60 new faces.
Note: there may be some limitations and issues for some complex geometric configurations.
RoundCorner 2.3a - 26 May 11: Fixes a problem of performance (slow navigation) which was reported by some Mac users.
RoundCorner 2.2c - 23 Feb 11: Fixes a small bug in 2.2b.
RoundCorner 2.2b - 23 Feb 11: Release without the traces that were in 2.2a.
RoundCorner 2.2a - 12 Jan 11: Technical release along with LibFredo6 3.6 and SU8. No functional changes, but it is advised to upgrade for support.
RoundCorner 2.1c - 11 Nov 09: Stable version

Dear Fredo6: this is getting to a point that it's getting hard to find new words to describe your work and what your doing for this comunity and sketchup itself...so i'll just have to say:
I'm feeling bad for not helping you with nothing since your plugins more than once have helped finishing my (personal or professional) projects, and you never ask nothing in return for this plugins, so if you need any help in any project of yours, (modeling, texturing , rendering etc), some tips, tricks, toturials, info on software or whatever or even just a good discussion, anything that i can help just tell me. i would gladly help you
Sketchup should raise a statue to people like you or at least mentione guys like you for keeping sketchup alive and at leas just suport high poly since the plugins are getting more and more sofisticated (sorry my english) and the only things "pulling them down" it's sketchup itself with their own limits
After all the plugins you released, and all for free (are you nuts?!?!) i don't know what more to do or say to show how gratefull i am. Again: thank you
As always another tour de force... The tools work very well... except the bevel/chamfer - which I suspect is the simplest of the three ? - which keeps bug-splatting me e.g. a 1m cube 100/150mm bevel to top or all edges... Sure it'll be a simple fix...
Another masterpiece!!Works like a charm! Thank you very much!

Looks stellar. Should help add a new level of realism to Sketchup Rendering. Nothing like a nice round corner to catch those specular highlights!
Thank you kind sir!!

Thanks. Could you be more explicit on the bug splat in v7. TIG has one too, but apparently only with Bevel. Do you see the Progress bar and then get a bugsplat, or does it happen right away when you execute?
Does it happen with complex shapes, meaning those where the operation would take several seconds.
I never got any Splat in my environments, so it is difficult for me to reproduce. But it maybe related to the way I make the operation interruptible. I guess that because you probably have fast machines, something happens in the first milliseconds of the operation.
It may be specific to SU7, because precisely SU7 blocks the GUI while creating geometry.

My splats occur with a very simple 1m cube with 100mm bevel, to top face or multi-edges. it usually splats, but when it works it's done almost instantaneously ! The other 2 types of rounding work fine - never splatted yet !!!
thomthom wrote:Could it be that it bugsplats as it tried to create faces too small? TIG: If you make a 10m cube and use 1000mm bevel, does it work then?
Good thinking - although you might think that a simple bevel, with no small faces, would not respond to this (unlike the rounding options that cause NO splats at the 1m/100m size)... BUT I scaled it up x10 [10m cube 1m bevel] AND the bevel works fine for almost all of the time - after many tests I did eot one non-repeatable splat... Seems there's something in that idea ?
I still don't understand what is the exact problem. I tried under SU7 with a cube of 10 meters dimensions and a 1 mm bevel, and it works without any splat (though you hardly see the bevel).
In any case, as the origin might be subtle, I have equipped the processing methods with a file trace (file FredoTraceRoundCorner.txt in the Sketchup Plugins directory). You just drop the attached file in the ROUNDCORNDER_Dir_20 folder.
If you are able to reproduce a bugsplat, could you please send me the text file.
Thanks
Fredo

Fredo , thank you very much for this tools. I tested in sketchup 7pro and Sketchup 6pro, and it works perfect. Using Windows XP SP3 in Spanish. If you need any proof of plugins, in particular, just tell me.
Tip> Can upload a file with different geometries, to test your plugins? To verify any type of error
all works fine here, i tried it on a 20mm box with a 1mm bevel and that works perfect. SU7 however with that special command bar that appears when i hover the mouse over any button there the cursor prompt say invalid ???
Yep with little measures that splatting soon as Enter! Beginning to see the time scroll barr... then plaffffffffff! Something like these measures for first tool!
