Old Style Church Roof...

Old Style Church Roof...

Postby zx10r_Gaz » Thu Dec 20, 2007 12:54 pm

I started off trying to see if I could replicate the old style roof truss that were common 400 500 years ago. But once I made the trusses and put them on the corbels, I then decided to do the perlins....etc etc

I have attached some images taken from the model, and I have also put a small animation of it on youtube.

I've only been using SU for about 2-3 months now, and I'm learning more everyday :D

That is really nice Gary. I like the first one best in part because the "wood" texture doesn't quite work in the 2nd two, but mostly because I love the way the shadows play through the trusses. Sometimes an incomplete building has even more beauty than a finished one.

Also, it's great to use SU to duplicate designs. That way I find I really understand them.
