Here is a Sketchup plugin which will draw the path that the sun travels for one day. It does this by first calculating the sun's position at the moment the plugin is run and then adding one half hour and redrawing it repeatedly until 24 hours have passed.

Interesting find, Andrew. It's very similar to Jim's Map Sun plugin (at least by what I can see in the picture because the links are broken).

Yes it is Csaba. On the website it say that a lot more could be added to it so it is fairly simple.

A few additions could be:
1. the sun position could rotate as you toggle across the day....
2. the sun path diagram could be grouped and be subject to alteration via shadows menu...


Anyway, food for thought!!!

There is a conflict between the Sunposition plugin and Curviloft (and maybe other scripts). Basically it causes a direct crash of Sketchup when using Curviloft.

see that post for more info on how to resolve the conflict.
