Keyboard equiv to holding down wheel for orbit
-
i'm using SU without a mouse for the moment. i have one elsewhere so will get round to it at some point.
for the meantime, i would like to know if it is possible to use a key, or to assign one, so that it can be used like the mouse wheel, to hold it down for orbit tool. upon release it would revert to whatever tool was previously selected.in the absence of a mouse it would be very handy, eg when move/copying, to be able to switch momentarily to orbit in order to see other locator point.
i am using shift when in orbit tool to get the hand quite a lot. it's something similar to this utility i would like for orbit tool.
thanks

ok, i've found the answer already. should've searched forum first! as usual...
on MAc it's holding ctrl and cmd. then adding shift goes to hand tool as well
handy, ish -
By default the O key is for the Orbit tool.
If you hit Spacebar you drop the Orbit tool and revert to the select tool.
The Shift key is a modifier for the Orbit tool to fire Pan mode. CTRL fires Suspend Gravity mode.
