Tool or plugin for slanted cone

Postby estclair » Sun May 05, 2013 8:10 am

Hello,

I'm fairly new to SketchUp, so I'm grateful for any advice.

I'm trying to find a way an easy way to draw a slanted cone based on the known radius of the base, a known height, and a known vertical and horizontal angle at which I'd like the cone to lean.

Does anyone know of a tool or plug-in that can perform this function?

E.

Hi Elissa,

Do you mean something like this? If yes, no plugin is needed actually.

Thanks, Csaba. I appreciate the tutorial! Those steps are similar to what I am doing now, but now I am planning to complete a project where I will need to build 400+ cones all leaning at various known angles and directions. I was hoping there was a way to automatically plug in the measurements and have SketchUp create the cone.

Thanks again!

Ah, I see. Sorry but I am a complete idiot when it comes to coding (I can only model what I can see or at least envision).
