Convert dxf to skp
-
Hi, I need to convert a .dxf file to a .skp file. Can someone tell me how? I don't have admin permissions on my computer, so I can't install anything. This leads me to believe that I probably won't be able to do it myself, but I can't see an attachment button. Thanks in advance.

After a couple of posts new members get enhanced privileges.
below the typing pane, as you type a message there's a 'Upload attachment' tab... it can't be much more obvious that thatAs a user of v8free you can't import DXFs using the v8pro only importers.
If you had v7free installed in parallel then that still includes a DXF importer [which is just the same in free and pro]: v7free is still available for download.
There are also some free plugins that give v8free DXF import capabilities - search the 'Plugins Index' at SCF [Resources > Plugins menu item in the header-bar]... These might not be as good as the 'pro' version but might do enough for your needs.
There are also some free CAD programs that read DXF and write SKP files, and vice versa too - Google for that...Unfortunately none of these solutions avoids having to install something...
However, some scripts could be manually loaded after Sketchup starts by typing in the Ruby Console:load "my/full/path/to/script.rb"
etc...OR you must get your IT guy to let you do something that allows for this...

Hi, I need to convert a DXF file to a SKP file by command line (command prompt), Is it possible with Sketchup pro? if so how? Or someone know a convert program to do this, I really appraciate any help, Thanks.

If you have Pro [as your profile says] then you can import a DXF directly into a SKP.
Why do you need to do it otherwise ?
