Component composed of components?

The component function in make component is sometimes broke. The big components make the name component menu not work. the component name menu just doesnt show up. I think it has something to do with component inside the component. Can components be made of components?

yes they can... I have also noticed that sometimes the dialog box does not come up, but if you repeat normally it has to do with something already being in a group.

You can view a listing of components and any components contained within:

Open the 'Model Info' dialog box, and select 'Statistics' from the left-hand column. Select 'Only components' from the right-hand drop-down list. Also check the box 'Show nested components'

(And there's your SketchUp terminology -- 'Nested' components.)

You can obtain similar results with the 'Outliner' window.

Or you can just use the Outliner to see all your components/nested components.
