If it will be a manual service to change user name, perhaps this should be a "premium" service with a fee to help support SCF operations.

Also other users should be able to see the previous names used.

This has not occurred so many times as to be tiresome at all. Lost passwords (and usernames), missing activation emails and such happen much more often (on a daily basis) but then of course one won't charge for a password recovery :)

I appreciate your offer, but understand you have better things to do. Like extracting a premium service fee from Dan for having an unused and wasted space in his screen name!

Well, it's my go-to place for allt hings SU. So thanks to all the capitan, officers, crew and my fellow passengers.
I am fairly comfortable with the current set-up, so if you change it all, there'll be a whole new learning curve. While most of the suggestions above seem Ok, please don't introduce a whole "new way" (TM) of doing things.
I'm in enough trouble keeping up with my Android phone interface changes!

Some changes sooner or later are inevitable as this forum template we are using is more than 5 years old and the core engine has changes so much that currently a couple of things are already broken. But even if we add a new skin and some extended functionality and fix some things that now do not work, it will be the same phpBB forum and basically everything should work the same way it does now.

The last survey question was most important in my view. Can't remember the questions wording, but I remember my answer.

I believe it asked about special interest forums, and I answered that there should be a special interest forum for each major plug-in for SU.

Instead of weeding through the general forums looking for the various Curviloft or Selection Tools threads, they should each have their own forum, where-in individual threads on specific problems/questions are posted all in one area of interest.

The first post is from the author presenting the plug-in and some form of tutorial and maintained for updates. Anybody having a problem/question with the plug-in can separately post in that forum, so all problems etc. are essentially co-resident.

Now, the big problem lies in the definition of "major plug-in" and who gets to post in that section.
But that's a political problem.......

I do think we should have a thread to nominate new emotions.

Best Forum for any product ever! Best contributors with the best attitude.
The attitude of you people set you apart. Many sites have knowledgeable people but you can detect that "thingy" (If you don't get it you shouldn't use the product attitude) in their replys.

Hi Guys,

I could not decide which was the most useful suggestion so I decided to have a raffle which included all with the exception of the Mods. The Mods will be getting new 100k+ Baseball Caps when I get around to ordering them, probably when the new site is launched.

Anyway, this is the list 1 to 25 as follows,

1 Rodrigonotor
2 baz
3 pbacot
4 Dan Rathbun
5 Jeff Hammond
6 cotty
7 Halroach
8 Khai
9 andybot
10 mitcorb
11 Krisidious
12 Bob James
13 hellnbak
14 brookefox
15 EscapeArtist
16 dale
17 Pilou
18 mwm5053
19 OG1
20 notareal
21 Hieru
22 Opal
23 raineysky
24 mozzie
25 jgb

I then used NumeroRama on my iPhone and got 13, 15 and 8.

So, can hellnbak, EscapeArtist and Khai please PM me their full names and postal addresses and I will get the caps out to them.

I am also attaching a video of the raffle process!

Mike

Hey powers that be... I'm wondering if there can be an easy change to the Forum graphics.

Currently there is a tiny tiny little graphic that will take you to the newest post in a thread (since your last visit, I think).
It is here in red.

Screen Shot 2012-07-17 at 9.50.30 AM.png

When viewing on the phone or tablet, that little tiny itty bitty icon next to the title is near impossible to hit without zooming in.

Any chance to make that new post indicator, shown here in green, take on the function of that silly little graphic?

It would make for a better overall UI experience when visiting from a touch device...

Good idea.
I wasn't even aware that the small page icon sent you to the new post.
