Trouble with SketchyPhysics 3.2 (installs as 3.1)

Postby thomas3120 » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:08 am

Hello,
I have installed SketchUp v.8 and SketchyPhysics v.3.1 (although download says 3.2).
When I try and make a hinge on 2 objects I get and error saying to download SketchyPhysics 3.2. It then zooms waaaay out, a small blue window appears that flickers.
Was wondering if I may have downloaded an older version of SP, or something else...?

first of all, please tell me how do you get the error(in a dialog box or in form of text on Sketchup screen).
As far as i know ,you must have not installed the thing properly or you must have clicked on the sketchyphysics ui
without a group seleted.

3.2 is the version actually installed. The 3.1 is just an oversight in the setup script.

Hi. In my case I install last version, SetupSketchyPhysics3.2-Dec2 and still show 3.1 version. And crash sometime with no reason, but in most cases crash when I click on blue window during simulation, if I not touch this blue window it work but no for long time.

In most cases I dont get any error it just freeze and must stop app from task manager, but sometime I get this error.

I run SKP 8, win xp sp3

So is this project abandoned? What's going on here? Btw, do you mean by an oversight that it was not fixed?

I believe that Chris Phillips is working on a new maintenance release. While it presently has its issues it still is too cool for school even as is.
