In this edition of CatchUp.... We tackle the recent Trimble acquisition and look at some of the players that are behind the move - the who's, what's, where's and why's - and what this means from SketchUp's vast user base. Also, both Eric and Adriana show you how to model some interesting elements using only native SketchUp tools. There's the usual plugin tip and much much more....I won't spoil it. To download the Interactive PDF you can go hereor to view in Flipping Page Format online you can go hereAs always feel free to comment here as we love feedback.

Good CatchUp Edition, thanks.
I still wonder if Trimble and the SketchUp team are going to spend 95% of their allocated resources on the building/planning/mapping/GIS focus and next to nothing on the generic 3D design application sector.
Personally, I really like SketchUp and have been promoting it among students, teachers & collegues, and if SketchUp continues to receive significant general development (and correction of some things that have been new-user hinderances for a while), I really see how SketchUp could become the world's most popular 3D design app -- and if they couple tightly with Adobe for complete viewing and analysis in Acrobat Reader, then together they could become the defacto standard for 3D idea communication and collaboration. [_must_ fix the problem of not being able to display dimensions in a 3D PDF]
I just hope Trimble doesn't get short-sighted and neglect the large market outside of the architecture/planning/mapping area...

In the error message it says "Firefox". Why would it make a difference?

I can download previous issues but not issue 10. I don't know if it means anything but for issue 10 if you look at the error message you see the IP address not the URL for the page address.

I really, really like this forum, so much fun. Great reading again. I especially liked the Curviloft tutorial. I have been using this tool for some time, but there is still much to learn. Thanks Again.

I've received all but this one...not in spam, if no one else is having issues it must be on my end somehow.

Thanks Rich and Mike, I got the copy you sent to Dropbox.
It would be nice to know what went wrong with the SU download. I just switched to Windows 7 and maybe there's a security issue with Firefox that I am unaware of.
Just for fun I tried to download Catchup 10 using Internet Explorer. Both the Open and the Save options worked fine so the problem must be with Firefox where both options fail.
Regards, Don
