This is simply stunning work.
I doubt many, (including myself) believed such superb results could be achieved with a low-poly modeler such as SketchUp.
I have read many times about how important lighting and textures are to 3D modeling.
Your skills demonstrate this more than any words could possibly hope to convey.
It would be fantastic if you could upload a short video tutorial demonstrating your workflow and techniques.
I am certain you would have many grateful students here.

Thank you very much for the good responds concerning my sketches....it's a pity I don't have much time for creativity,
because I am too busy at work ...but never mind. :) ..quality means more than quantity ...
....ok! I've been watching a music video on youtube the other day and I have realized what thing I had always wanted to do:the famous John Lennon's glasses!...futhermore I wear the same ones myself....I am trying to do my best while doing a sketch, which, in turn, demands a preparation stage. That's why I decided to turn to Internet for more information.... Surely, it was very importantto find a picture of a good quality...I have found it along with a strange story...(http://www.ihavejohnlennonsglasses.com)...
Wish this guy good luck. However, the story seems to be a bit made-up, but on the other hand it might be true! Anyway I have an excellent photo of terrific glasses in LENNON style!(want them for myself!!)... let them be entitled as Lennon's glasses, he had quite a few of them...:)
-----------------------------------------
....by the way here is the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwuCgNW0axs)... It inspired me for the whole thing I have done here... There you can see very cool musicians playing!!..I think you'll recognize them. ;)
...HI,I Call Your Name!!! :bounce: WOW! :bounce: Press youtube and slideshow,Enjoy! :ecstatic:

...Thank you very much for the interest for my topic, which I see regarding the number of views of the page… Same as this summer, loads of work to do nowadays, time’s limited to the forum overview and laziness and tiredness  …I suppose it’ll pass…but there’s a great deal in continuing the topic discussion here…Along with the new ideas regarding art-sketch, I’ll upload my old (lost in an old forum) components, step by step. I think it’ll be good for the new members of the forum, which haven’t got a chance to see them…I see a total number of 10 000 members registered at the moment…
One more time give applauses to the administration of the forum for such results… :thumb:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...Ok. I mentioned before that I mostly do the interior furniture design, sometimes small houses…
So the components I have are quite specific…for instance, I have recently needed the models of handles of a good quality…the quality I saw in 3D Warehouse and on the forums did not quite satisfy me… :puke: so had to do it all by myself…most of them do exist in reality. I have done my best, so that they would be edited to the maximum both in color and size (watch the rar video)…
...Lets begin with "Hi-Tech" handles. :D

Urgen: i thank you for sharing these amazing (and very clever) models, going through them one can see how valuable these are, i feel like i should pay you :? you should work for formfonts, the style of their recent stuff is almost identical, with the mapping of real world textures... wow, truely thank you and anxiously awaiting more (although you've already provided more than enough).

Urgen, you're doing so fantastic models !
I'd like to know how you modeled and then textured your classic handles.
Any chance to get a skippy detailing that stage by stage ? Kind of tutorial.

Urgen, I'm not sure which to thank you for more; the link to Girabaldi painting (simply AMAZING) or the materials you've created. WOW, it's Christmas already.
