I should add that as well as the FormFonts commercial site (thanks for the plug, Ron), you can also pick up quite a few freebies by typing freebie or gratis into the search box.
http://www.formfonts.com/search.php?are ... it2=Submit

There is also the FF Exchange which has many more models, but it will cost you one of your own in return. http://www.formfonts.com/index.php?area=All&site=1 (Please read the instructions for upload and model preparation) http://www.formfonts.com/information/Xc ... elines.pdf

All we ask is that you don't take these skp models created by others and post them to the likes of the 3D Warehouse as your own. Conversely, we ask that the skp you are posting to the Exchange is your own, not one you have downloaded from here or elsewhere.

These models are differentiated from the commercial content in that they have an orange border to the thumbnail.

One good way to do this is to create a collection in the 3D Warehouse and add all the existing 3D Warehouse components which you want to share to the collection. Then you could post a link to the collection.

You have to register, but the blurb says that the models are free, but with conditions on use.

Hi Cody,

Yes SU will Import 3ds files. Are these your own creation? If so you can post them in this subforum. Otherwise just provide the link in this thread.

No, it'll import .3ds, .dem, .ddf, .kmz, .dae as well as numerous image types!

And if you use FBX Converter you can convert .skp to .3ds but it give erroneous results. Tried it a couple of time with mixed results

All the import options are the sme in the free and pro except dwg/dxf that was taken out of the free version when 7.1 came out (but they still have the importer plugin)

I found an old site that did race tracks for an old NASCAR Sim game. But they are 3d MAX files. Is there a 3DMAX to 3DS converter for free?
