1.3.0In the new version 1.3.0 of Skatter, you can now create complex green walls, or anything else scattered on vertical surfaces. Here is a complete tutorial one how to do it : http://skatter.helpscoutdocs.com/articl ... green-wall
The high quality plant models used in this example are from Lotfi Bernoussi. You can download them here : https://gumroad.com/l/tOyB Changelog:- Added custom projection axis
- Added "Swap object's Z and Y axis" when Pointing Direction is 100% to Normal
- Fixed an important crash/freeze when opening SketchUp when Skatter doesn't find surface group/component
- Fixed object orientation when using Pointing Direction
- Fixed grass color and saturation
- Fixed trees and bushes Vray ID mixup
- Fixed Size/Distance boundary check when the surface is a solid (no boundaries)

Looks great. But I am getting an error msg...' Please restart Sketchup to complete the Skatter update'.
Which of course I have done several times...
... If I click ok, scatter seems to open normally, but following your 'Wall' tutorial, unable to 'Pick axis'. I get msg 'You have already picked this surface' and blue axis arrow is pointing down.

Great update...and image. I'm wondering how that would look from another perspective though? Maybe closer to the wall and with a more dramatic perspective?

Try installing as admin. Right-click the installer, then "Run as Administrator".

You can try it yourself, I gave the scene to Lotfi so it is included in his collection.

I did read the install instructions, so I did 'run as admin' So should I uninstall (somehow) and try again?

Yes, I'd try a full uninstall an reinstall.
I guess it's already the case, but just to be sure : SketchUp is not running when you install, right?

yes, all programs except firefox closed during install. Ok did a reinstall and 'pick axis' seems to be working, but now won't regenerate. Happy Xmas, I'm having a few days off. See you in the new year. xx

How does Skatter work with Lumion rendering?
I do some free lance design work with a firm that uses Lumion. I'm wondering if I should recommend they invest in Skatter.
cheers!

Skatter and Lumion can't be tightly integrated, as Lumion doesn't run inside Sketchup, but some people use both together anyway : http://danieltal.com/skatter-extension-part-2/

I am able to set the Axis and although the regenerate button seems to accept the click, the model does not update. And with 71 simple cubes, unticking 'render only' shows the proxies only. A test render in Twilight shows only the group. Edited. Deleted the Ruby code. -----------------
