A better part of a day.... and I need assistance.

I've selected 9 varied proxy blades, the target surface and rotation...etc. Numerous tests render similar results.

For some reason, similar or identical proxy blades are rather grouped together and rotated directionally to land in clumps facing the same direction.

Can you share what I might be doing wrong.... or right... or if it is not yet capable of handling the number of proxies at the same time in order to get a nice varied spread of rotation on all of the blades on the surface?

Do you want it as a Thea Scene and SU model?

[Q] Scattered objects are "grouped" and rotated together

I've replicated the issue.

When placing more than two proxies at the same time, the proxies become grouped as one... or treated as one as far as settings.

I've saved the file out, included the Thea Scene file as well as the Thea Pack. I'll send them to you.

When using Skatter, placing one proxy after another... there seems to be no problem.

Though it does create bridges on occasion between two points that has no surface.

That is cool... not handy though!

Wow...
72 millions points generated and projected on the surface, for a final count of 1.3 millions scattered items! Worse, you actually generated all those components. :berserk:
Man, I can't even work on the file, it's so heavy :D (And it took ages to open)

That's some serious Skatter setup

You should really consider scattering small patches of grass instead of individual blades. You will drastically increase performances.

As for the issue itself, it seems to happen when the insertion points are really close from one another. I'll try to fix it.

Thanks again for your file, it's very usefull.

Oh, baby! That's just the border. I am using my own proxy bed I've been developing for the mass drop onto large terrain. But, the terrain is large and these Skatter tests are only for the borders. I've actually reduced the amount of border use for these tests... the last model generated much more.

Yes... a pain... but the results are pretty convincing.

Looking forward to your news.

Thanks

Even for the border, you can use small patches of grass.

I initially tried with a small group proxy... but the results were not consistent, so resorted to using the individual blades that actually look even and a solid build that blends with the grass proxy bed behind it. Still though, if you have suggestions... I'm more than open to seeing how to use this with more success.
