I am still waiting to see if I can get the time off work but I will certainly meet everybody for beers as my office is only about 300 meters from the venue,

Beers, beers!!! Did I hear someone mention beers!!!

Liam, it was you. What's a good pub nearby that could cater for a crowd of thirsty 3D Basecampers?

Oh there are many, I have spent 5 years boozing in these few square miles! There is a pub in the same block as my office who would gladly reserve the upstairs for you if I asked (see map attached), about a 15 min walk from the venue. Otherwise there are more pubs than you can count within 10 mins. They are a bit pricy around RIBA and get cheaper the further down the road you walk.

Here are a few nearby pubs...
I'm biased - as I am staying ~10min west of the RIBA...
I.E. within staggering distance...

Sorry was away just got back to London this evening, yeah a few but it depends on your budget. The Ham Yard Hotel is good, it has a bowling alley and cinema in the basement ;-).

Its so easy to get around London (even if you are walking) I would look around Waterloo, you can just jump on a bus or tube and be central in less than 10 mins (I have just moved from Waterloo and would walk to work every week).

before we created a dedicated thread i thought i'd give you a heads up here first...

the early-bird will end next week. those on the fence about attending should get on board this week.

the actual program is pretty packed at this stage so if you haven't visited it in a while it is worth revisiting....

http://3dbasecamp.sketchucation.com/program.html

...it is still subject to change but there will be something for everyone.

We have 3 rooms and a foyer reserved for the two days so you can float around as you wish.

There's also some goodies planned for some lucky attendees. More info next week... :)

rich,
what's the non-earlybird cost?

I live a bicycle ride away from the venue, but don't know if I'll be in town yet...

PM if you prefer...

Liam, I misread label of the square on your map. all that beer talking and your experience in drinking them made me lead to reading as "hangover square".
Regardless, looks like a ideal place to drink or eat lunch during work. (not with the waether in london these days though :( )

No. Recording at RIBA is not possible.

Maybe there'll be personal recordings.

But to hire the official AV package was prohibitive to making the event happen.

Rich; what is the deal with the link at the top of the page? I keep getting some Apache nonsense. I'm coming over from Montreal but my main client's office is in London and I am trying to get them to send some people.

Also; Are you doing anything like the unconference things we did in Boulder? I wouldn't mind knocking heads with some Thea experts!

That I can't explain. It seems fine for me.

We have room reserved that attendees can use for whatever they wish.
