Some quick tests on the samson navy version, toying with the idea of getting rid of the landing skids and have a tricycle arrangement with retractable undercarriage similar to the sea king.

Just downloading THEA again, cant wait to get this bad boy rendering properly again on my i7 machine!!!

EDIT:

Ahh it only took 60 seconds and I had fallen back in Love with it. Its using all my processor power and burning through renders. My old mac book pro would have died after 4 passes!

Maybe you'll be able stay on that bull? Speaking of bulls, how's the redbull these days?

Ha maybe, im going to Boulder in October so maybe round two if I can find that bar again!!
Red Bull beverage or Red bull aeroplane? Plane is coming along http://m.cmcdn.net/12645329/940x593.jpeg, but I have abstained form the drink as it just gives me false energy and annihilates any sort of sleeping pattern!

My new drink of the month is Stella Artois Cider which is stocked in the pub in work and is a low alcohol percent so I can drink more and still do some work if I have to!

Little bit more, ignore the scale those spacemen will be much much small in the final version, just placeholders.

Cheers, you can sort of see where it fits on the larger ship here http://liam887.carbonmade.com/projects/3172025

Although as you can tell I started the ship in 2009 and back then those modules where just cargo space but recently did I make the lander so will have to figure out how to redesign the ship around it, im sure it will look much different.

Its not rendered I just used the technique in this tutorial here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=18866&hilit=illustrating

Managed to pretty much finish the mirror, I just created the basic shape then a huge grid of repeated polygons spit into small triangles and intersected it all, deleting all the crap around the edges.

I guess you can go about it a few ways but as far as speed I couldn't think of anything quicker.

Im pretty pleased with the mirror as I think it will give something different to the final drawings, fingers crossed! I think everybody can agree its better than the one in the last post!

Started work on the matter-antimatter storage holds. With a little help from Taff Goch it saved me a bit of a headache constructing the sphere!

Did a lot more work on the lattice structure that holds the matter-antimatter storage tanks to the engines and the rest of the ship.

Good job for layers thats all I can say! Something like 2012768 faces right now.It could be cleaner but as this is going to be an illustration technique finished piece it doesn't matter about excess geometry.

Its pretty tedious and slow work right now making cables etc, luckily I made each quater as a component so only have to do 1/4th. Gone are the good old days where I was naive about groups/components thank God!
