Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
Another awesome tool thomthom. I'll post some examples when I've finished my current WIP. wrt soft selection, would it be possible to incorporate a negative radius? that would soften the vertices only by the vertices selected rather than a soften by vertices surrounding the current selection? I ask this because there are certain vertices on the edges of my mesh that I don't want to move, but its hard to get a good soft sine wave from a selection that doesn't affect some of the vertices on this edge. thanks again. -niall Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
Very good idea. (A wee technical challenge of doing this, but I do like the idea! I'll add it to the list of experiments) ![]() ![]() Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010*drools*
I can see myself just playing with this tool for hours. I noticed it said IE7 and up.. what? No firefox? Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
No - it uses the OS default HTML render engine, which means IE on windows and WebKit on OSX. Many applications makes use of the IE render engine (note - not the browser itself, just it's core) so it's always worth keeping IE up to date, even if you don't use it as your browser. Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010I have a copy of this sht, it works great but it needs to delete vertexes! [nondestractive]
Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010What's 'sht'?

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
Can you explain what you mean by this? "Delete non-destructive" - it's an oxymoron - how can you delete something without being destructive? Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010Oh, could it be, erase vertices between co-linear edges, without erasing the edges? If so, that is a feature in the upcoming version 1.1.

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
When you do, please post back some examples. I'd love to see some. In the upcoming releases, not just v1.1, I got plans to make it easier and quicker to control the vertices. In addition to soft selection where the falloff is controlled by bezier curve - like 3ds max. Thomas Thomassen — SketchUp Monkey & Coding addict

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010What about the new plugin that you were developing?
Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010That's what, "...it's in beta..." means - i.e. the new version is undergoing testing before you lot get to use it... TIG
Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010
I remember a plugin, not vertex tools, another one, a good one, I don't know it's name. Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010Bezier Surface is part of the whole family of mesh control tools Thomthom is developing. So I imagine if Vertex Tools is out of the pipeline then it makes room for him to concentrate on this a bit more. Well, here's hoping

Re: [Plugin][$] Vertex Tools (1.0.0) — 20 July 2010Rich is correct - Bezier Surface is my second brain child. Once Vt1.1 is out I can port the gizmo back to Bezier Surface and that will make up for bit part of the development. The gizmo has been blocking many of my projects because it's been so complex to make right.
