Didier

It occurs to me that my recent tool cpointAtLineFaceIntersection.rb viewtopic.php?p=168853#p168853 might also be incorporated into your projection toolset - please feel free to reuse the code / ideas as you see fit...

Didier:

Your last icon creates faces from a curve (a continuous curve), but the faces are not smoothed (like those created when push-pulling a circle or "welded" segments).

Wondering if you can incorporate this into another or the same tool?

What do others think. Good, bad, or unecessary?

That's just what I was going to ask you for ! Thanks for contributing :thumb:

This feature is incorporated in the code actually, but apparently doesn't work every time
I'll check that asap.

Am I missing something? There are 4 items you show on your first post that are blank on my toolbar. The icons for them are not even in the projection folder inside the zip file. I am confused.

I am also not seeing buttons 1, 5, 8, 9. If I mouse over these buttons their descriptions show up. I have not fully tested the functions yet. At first I thought the update would overwrite the previous. And then I reviewed the first post where you say to delete the previous, so I did that. However, the four mentioned buttons do not get their png's, which I believe are in the auxiliary folder.
I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Here, all the buttons, change the folder from the archive of "Projection"

What you have is not the latest version...so you can get or the buttons loaded.

The latest version updated on 3. July is missing buttons.
So waiting for Didier Bur.

No they are still not "all the buttons" compared to the latest update in first page. There are at least three buttons missing.
It seems Didier Bur has updated the .rb but forgotten to change the folder. You can get all the buttons loaded because your .rb is not the latest one.

Hi Cadfathher,
Thanks a million. I knew that smoothing was possible, but the ruby doc is REALLY bad, it doesn't mention that an edge can be smoothed only when it shares 2 faces.
It works now. Patch published.

wonder if anyone has the same thing - when i use extrude lines, i cannot draw the vector easily - it stop/starts or disappears.
only with difficulty i can align it along an axis..

will keep an eye if there's a clash somewhere

Hi Didier,

this is what's happening - the inferencing works well when you have faces behind the cursor.
it snaps strangely when in empty space

It's me or when using undo with for exemple the Extrude line along a vector all the lines are killed :o
It's some annoying when you have made 10 extrude lines successive all is to remake ;)
Does not possible to have a real undo successive?

Hi Pilou,

Someone asked me (a long time ago I confess) to have a global undo instead of a step by step undo. How to satisfy everybody ?

In french: on m'a demandé il y a longtemps de faire un annuler global plutôt que par étape. c'est l'un ou l'autre, c'est difficile de contenter tout le monde...

Nothing. The new RBS is an update of the "extrude lines tool" to have smoothed surfaces when extruding curves, arcs, and circles.

Damned! :o
It's very more subtle to have a partial Undo than a global Undo for this sort of function (just 10 clicks than a painful remake :o
It's even absurd! :o
As the drawing of the vector is not so evident, an error is speedy arrived!
I am very disappointed
