[Plugin] Projections version 2 UPDATED 03.07.09

Re: [plugin] Projections version 2

could it be camera position relative to horizon when selection is done? probably not, just wondering.
I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Unfortunately nothing to do with camera position, Mitcorb. Don't understand why but it simply doesn't work for me.

Any chance to integrate an "Offset" or similar in the "Extrude line along a vector"?

Maybe it's only my problem?

Unfortunately I think it is your problem, because what you describe always work on my side...

Hi Didier and thanks for your patience. When i use for the second time "insert guides at divisions" some lines are missed (very often the middle line) but i've noticed that if i click a little bit below the edge of the solid it works fine. Maybe this makes some sense to you?

OK, no problem, I was thinking this one were not so useful. I'll put it in next update.

Yes, it is due to the "automatic cleaner" bug. Bug was corrected yesterday, that's why this didn't happen here ;)

Hi Didier!
I can't make your new commands work.
Some quotations from console:
Error: #<NameError: uninitialized constant ProjectCpointTool>
C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/projection_extension.rb:47
C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/projection_extension.rb:47:in `call'
Error: #<NameError: uninitialized constant XLinesThrougLinesTool>
C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/projection_extension.rb:23

Any ideas what's wrong in my case?
And thank you again and again for your contributions.

hi rv1974,
your installation is incorrect. You must have a sub-folder "projections" under plugins after unzipping the archive. Check for it, i'm almost sure this is not the case ;)

Yes but I also see that you have another 'projection.rb' file which is the previous version. Do a clean install, removing ALL previous files in the Projections folder, and everything will go OK.

I am using a MAC pro, and this version 2 has no functionality on my computer.

Choosing any function has no effect whatsoever.

I am attaching the errors indicated in the Ruby console.

I have deleted all previous versions from my plug in folder.

Thanks and help! I use these all the time, especially extrude lines, which is a god send sometimes.

Cheers, Chuck

Thank you very much for update Didier.
Three suggestion.
a - be possible to customize the toolbar?for example Plugins 1001bit 1.1.6
Leaving active in the toolbar only the tools I'm interested
b - Erase guides, Could have an option to delete all guides of the drawing?
c - Insert Insert guides and guides at intervals at divisions, after using them, are active at the same starting point.
the tool could be active. But choose a new edge?

and a question.
Achieve as the result of this picture?

Indeed it goes OK :P
Another thing: Could you add multiple not connected edges extrusion? It'd really add a lot

Would it be possible to have a choice for Tools #6 and #7 to place either points or guide lines?

Thanks for me a very useful plugin

Hi Chuck,
It seems you have the same problem than rv1974. An "uninitialized constant" error message means that the script within the "Projection" folder is not loaded, and an "undefined method" error message too. Check for the file "projection.rbs" in the Projection" sub-folder of plugins. Please tell me if it is there. :bounce:

You can do that already. Select unconnected edges as you would do with connected edges !

Insert Insert guides and guides at intervals at divisions, after using them, are active at the same starting point.
the tool could be active. But choose a new edge?

You can do that already too. After a first guides insertion, hit Enter to select a new edge (watch your status bar). Please read the doc folks ! :D

Hi Didier, thanks for the quick response.

Yes, the projection.rbs is in the projection folder.

I trashed the file and still no functionality. I have nothing but png's and the projection.pdf filesin the projection folder and still the same error messages. I tried placing the rbs file back in and still nothing works.

thanks for the help

Hi Didier, this looks like another sweeeet update, however with my iMac nothing so far works.
My situation is just like Chuck's, they don't seem like doing anything whatsoever upon my clicking icons.
I've been using Projection tools for the longest time and am very familiar with how they work.
They have been doing beautifully until I updated to ver.2.
I clean-installed them as well.

I just noticed that if I install them in [HD]-[user]-[username]-[library]-[Application Support]-[Google SketchUp6]-[SketchUp]-[plugin],
instead of usual [HD]-[library]-[Application Support]-[Google SketchUp6]-[SketchUp]-[plugin], everything works.

Hope this will be fixed... Thanks in advance!

I can verify the results of takesh h: It doesn't work if you put the necessary files in the usual place, but does work if you put them in the User Library.

The same is true for Profile Builder (for me, at least)

I'm far from an expert in MacOs, but this sounds to me to be like when on Windows you install some software for "all users" or for just one user.
I'll put that in the doc. Thanks for the tip !
