1) Options for generating geometry is one feature of Curviloft which is not terminated. I may however add the option to keep either / or the mesh lines in a next release quickly
2) in Skinning, I purposedly removed the meshing of surfaces that are planar, precisely to avoid too many polys and faces. Unfortunately, I did not provision an option to inhibit this feature.
Thanks again. I'll try to incorporate all this in a next release
Just one remark: with your skinning approach, you don't need to divide the segment. Curviloft can do it for you via the Sampling parameter.

Fredo
ha.. yeah, i knew that (as it's a great feature of curviloft in general). what i meant to do was use the manual divide as a way to show me trying to force curviloft to make the lines to no avail. for whatever reason, i ended up doing it in a few different parts.. i should maybe try following a script next time i make a video
First of all i want to thank you for this magnificent plugin.. but i have question, is there a way to slow down the movement of the grip, when we select a grip or a point to edit it?? i usually have this problem when i want to move it on certain axes (after im press ctrl button)
Hi Fredo, I recently updated your spline tools set and unfortunately it stopped functioning. I get the toolbar, I can activate the commands, but they simply don't draw. I'm pretty sure the file's structure is OK, the FredoLib is updated. What could be the reason? Thank you in advance. BTW where could I download the older version?

Lets see what Fredo says - there's been no other reports of this issue since it was released in January. Seems that there's some local issue. Have you tried temporarily to run SU with just BezierSpline? In case there is a conflict with some other plugin?

Bingo! I took (my curiosity conquered my natural laziness he-he) the virgin plugins folder and placed the latest spline set. It works. but now I have dilemma: to filter hundreds plugins or comfortably stay with the mess?
Add half of the Plugins back in and retry. If it fails you know the problem is with that half just moved back. Remove half back into the temp folder and retry. If it fails you know the problem is in the remaining portion left in etc etc
It it's still OK try moving over half of what's left... etc Again if it fails you know the issue is with the 'half' just moved back and so on...
You can quickly narrow it down to a small group of files so 512 > 256 > 128 > 64 > 32 > 16 > 8 > 4 > 2 > 1 => only 10 steps in the very worst case...

that's smart I'll try it But I guess the number of plugins itself is a biggest troublemaker.
Maybe you can open the Ruby console and chcek if there is any message displayed that could give me a hint (plugins like Matchbox and old versions of Podium are known to create side-effects). Also, if you use my other plugins (like FredoScale or RoundCorner), do they function correctly?
In last resort, use TIG's method to find out. Detecting plugin conflicts is always useful for the community of users.
At the end I restarted my PC, replaced (portion by portion, TIG's prescription) and magically the things get normalized). So, let's say it was kind a local turbulence. Sorry for bothering, and thank you for replies.
not sure if it is the LibFredo 4.3b or the BezierSpline 1.4f plugin, but if the LibFredo 4.3b is enabled, the BezierSpline 1.4f does not work. i get a Ruby console error for line 592 cannot convert nil to float.
Error: #<TypeError: no implicit conversion to float from nil> C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/BZ_Dir_14/bezierspline_main.rb:592:in `-' C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 8/Plugins/BZ_Dir_14/bezierspline_main.rb:592:in `onMouseMove'
Fredo tools works regardless of BezierSplines being enabled or not. NOTE: I only encountered this error since updating to 4.3b and prior to that it was working correctly.
NOTE: this result was found with only the LibFredo and BezierSpline plug-ins running - SU8 Pro on Windows Vista SP2 Ruby 1.9.3
NOTE: it may be due to LibTraductor - the old version is still in the plug-in directory and the Lib6Traductor in the LibFredo dir is not compatible with the BezierSpline calls.
