Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proMoris,
Thank you very much for this plugin. I believe it will find many applications! I haven't tested it yet, but what I have seen in the preview looks VERY promising. I will have to add it to SU2KT animation export Tomasz Author of Thea Render for SketchUp
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proWill this work on either Windows or Mac?
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThanks Moris, shall be good fun.. ehm, on holiday
Right on Tomasz, we are waiting for you now!
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThis is amazing ! Thank you very much for this plugin.
So this actually is object animation for Sketchup right? I must try it. It appears to be quite easy to use. Now the cheesy question: Will this work with Vray and Indigo to render animations? I know making an object animation manually by tweaking the hiding options does not hold in both render apps.....Would be awesome if it could.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThis looks like a great plugin!

Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThank you. Thank you.
My question, Morris, is this. Can I save the SKP file and send it to someone so they can see the action? Or is there a way to export the animation? Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThank you!!!
It works Great!!! And the plugin supports position and scale transformations! I only have problems with some rotations.. look at the attach video. The simple box is rotated 90° from the center point but in the animation looks strange. Now you can set up to 4 positions. Can you add more?? 4 is not sufficient for this so amazing plugin. Thank You!!! Daniel S Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/pro
Under Way of Working on June 9th I wrote " ... this could mean more Pro versions, more scripts, a new profession of nameset makers, animations in addition to bar charts ..."; so you can imagine I am very happy to see you have come up with this. But unfortuately I cannot open your googlepage from here for some reason; would you be kind enough to upload the zip file or send it to me by PM? Thanks Chris
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proThank You! Yet another very impressive plug-in.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proAny chance of either posting a version of the video we can view on OS X? I get a codec error in Quicktime using the WMV plugin. No Xvid for the Mac AFAIK.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proI am glad you like this, now lets see your creativity results.
1) this plugin is written only in ruby, so it should be good for both mac & windows. 2) when saving your sketchup model the "positions" are saved in it too, so if you email your model to a friend and he downloads this plugin, he should have the same animation functionality. 3) this plugin uses the new SU version 6 "observer" class to hook into the "scenes" change, this "observer" is not called by SketchUp "Export -> Animation" so right now you cant standard export this to an AVI - just see it in sketchup. viewtopic.php?f=180&t=10926 for the mean time hide the axes and use some screen capture utility to export videos. 4) later i will add more than 4 positions, start experimenting very slowly. 5) Youtube too does not like my wmv9 video - try http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1455250/m ... _sketchup/ the resolution is terrrible but better than nothing i trust you come up with better viedos Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: [plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/pro
Yes, it would be awesome if that could be supported. Great job on that plugin
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proMorris:
Great work. I think everyone's hopes have been elevated. We need to have a way for all .skps using your scripts to have a link embedded that will enable the anyone opening them to easily downloaded and install the proper script. I suppose it could something as basic as floating text label with instructions if there was not a way to automate the process. John

Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proLooks very promissing, but why does the object you animate "shrink" during the animation..??
I.e. a wheel turning on a motorbike will look a bit strange since it constantly change size during the animation...
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proMorisdov, Wow, this looks amazing and I think the word 'PROPER'
well descibes what you have achieved. This is indeed very generous of you Mike
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proYes, Morisdov great plugin but I also wonder why when rotating (p.e. doors) it isn't rotating but a sort of (as Kim stated)'shrinking, turning and expancing' movement.
greetings, ErikB
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proplease download latest version 1.01 - should fix "shrink" on rotation.
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proI saw a post in the SketchUp forum about making a paper airplane animation. I was curious and thought I'd play with it. In the attached model, I've got two components. The triangular one is supposed to fold up. As it does, though, it moves away from the other component. When I rotated it, I rotated along the edge common to both. Is there a way to make the component "hinge" on the edge?
FWIW, it does seem to work properly for a hinging door. Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums. Inspecting mirrors is a job I could easily see myself doing.
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/pro very useful plugin, when you have to describe running machines without stopping them for safety reasons....La Connaissance n'a de valeur que partagée

Just my last drawing using your work... It's so easy to show complex movements ( here the Sample Handler on a Xray Spectrometer ) Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums. La Connaissance n'a de valeur que partagée
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proMorisdov,
thank you for sharing! (applause) this looks really great - can't wait to try it. I noticed in your video that it appears the working of the rotate tool is SketchUp is still a bit frustrating for you... perhaps I'm wrong... if so, sorry - I mean no offense! It is a very difficult thing to master for many people I teach! The tip I give in training people in SU at our office is: when you go to place the center of the rotation tool protractor, click and drag (don't just click and release the mouse button right away) and PULL the center rotation axis of the tool (like the axis of a motor bike wheel) into an SU colored axis direction. then you will see it highlight as it locks the rotation tool onto that axis. Then let go of your mouse button when the rotate tool is locked into the axis you wanted. Then click first to set a 'base' 'zero' point... then START rotating in one or the other direction, THEN click your second point, or just type the angle you want after you have started it rotating.
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proHello Morisdov,
I'm really fond of your plugin. Some feedbacks : When using SketchyPhysics on the same time, Priority is given to SKPhysics, I've to activate continously the scene button to move slowly proper-animated groups. ( may be my 4 years old PC is little bit slow...) I've discovered that selecting all the scenes and apply them the same camera set-up, improves the reading. (Sorry for such a frenglish syntax Do you know if it's possible to read "proper_animated skp files" on viewer as far as the plugin is needed to perform movements ? If someone knows how to insert plugin in SketchUp viewer, he is welcome... (I mean animations plugin and why not SketchyPhysics...) La Connaissance n'a de valeur que partagée
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proDoes it possible to synchronize the Movement of the "proper animation" with the movement of the scenes?
Sart --> end of Scene = Start --> end of "Proper Animation" Of course I can reduce the speedy of the "Scene" by Animation / Settinds but that will be too speedy In another word does it possible to setting "Proper Animation" speed? In any case your plug is crazy fun ! ![]() (load the Files then Plugins/ "Start animation observer" and run animation) (plugin proper_animation of course installed) Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proIf I understand your question correctly, go to Model Info. In the Animation tab, you can set the transition time within the scene for section planes to show and/or hide, as well you can set the transition time between one scene to the next. This will allow a pause of whatever seconds you want for someone to examine the scene or set it to 0 and allow a more fluid flow between scenes. You may still get a minor "jerk" appearance between scenes if the movement changes direction.

Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/pro
I am not sure From my example exo2 upper I wish of course the Move rotating Scaling of the big cube to the "little" also in 3 seconds between the 2 Scenes Please, register (free) to access all the attachments on the forums.
Re: [Plugin] proper animation - for SketchUp 6 free/proPlease download latest version supporting unlimited number of positions/scenes.
1) Sketchy Physics has its own "animation" so it is better to setup there a starting position of a "natural" chain reaction (gravity), without "proper animation" 2) "proper animation" does not have its own speed control, but relies on sketchup settings of scene transition times. you may use few scenes as part of a single long leg of a animation part 3) the intent is not building a new "Lively" like 3D world, only unleashing current sketchup users creativity demonstrating their models to customers I guess google will release a 3D software tool for Lively, maybe Sketchup 7 ? Lively can be more attractive destination than 3D warehouse or google earth. Post more animated models, Moris
