this is my first participation in a challenge - hope you like it.

this is a model of the "RT1" transistor radio by UKs radio company roberts (50s style) the modern version called "revival 250" was introduced in 1991 and is available until today but with more advanced features.

took me 25min altogether. main tool used was rounded corner plugin. i intended to add more detail but time limit didn´t allow any more (i´m just too slow) :(

[Edit: Images removed due to size restriction - Boofredlay]

edit: so sorry here they come again (i accept public ridicule)

castroman - your images are fine; mukul was wrong - he thought the adjusted images still didn't comply with the maximum size limit. However, that upper limit had been increased a while ago so your images are now OK. It's a maximum size limit, therefore smaller images are just fine... :D

castromann, thank you for updating the images. This is a nice model indeed.
And yes, new rules are 1000 x 800 max so you are good to go :thumb:

My 1st challenge, found this photo on line and thought I’d give it a go. Nothing special, Booleans and circles, need more work on the face and dial.

Smaller Images, sorry bout that..

Well, Coffee-makers, radio, microphone are retro, indeed. Recently, I have recalled quite an interesting thing: the coolest music counterfeit in the world :fro: . In USSR people called it "music on bones", "music on ribs", or simply "my granny's skeleton" :D .
Handmade gramophone records were made from the X-ray images. I think, you will be surprised to find out it actually existed ;) .

Well, Urgen, we had the same here. This was the way we made pirated copies of LP's we could otherwise not have access to.

Western Electric 201 Wall phone. Best I could do in 30 minutes. Couldn't finish the heandset or the craddle.

I feel like a guy who admits he hasn't exercised ina while -haven't played with SU in a few weeks. Some great models as usual. I sit all amazed. :)

Thanks Burt,
I've been wondering what to do for this one, so here is a free form handset to go with your base.
Not the right style I'm sure but straight from my childhood memories.
By the way, I'm guessing your dial is the US one, the 11 is a dead giveaway, I always wondered how you dialed 911 so fast.

I had to say it that way Boo, I wouldn't have dared say anything about the people panicking running around in circles saying, That's the 9 now where the hell is the 11 button.
